Steven Duggan – Head of Worldwide Education Strategy, Microsoft
Steven Duggan is a member of the Education Strategy Team in Microsoft’s Worldwide Public Sector organization. His primary focus is Education Desktop, in particular the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning experiences & outcomes. A former Head of English, Duggan joined Microsoft in 1995 as an education SME on the Encarta team and has been passionately involved ineducation all his working life.
Steve Walter, Engagement Games, Emerson College
Steve Walter is the managing director of the Engagement Game Lab, an applied research lab at Emerson College dedicated to innovating the ways people
participate in civic life and expanding the study of citizenship in a digital era. Steve has also worked at the Boston Public Health Commission, Boston EMS, Boston Center for the Arts, Harvard Graduate School of Education, and the PBS television shows Frontline and Nova.
Shauntel Poulson, New Schools Venture Fund
Shauntel Poulson is a principal at NewSchools Venture Fund’s Oakland office, where she focuses on investment strategy, due diligence, and management assistance for the organization’s portfolio ventures. Previously, Shauntel was a Senior Engineer at Procter and Gamble. As an Education Pioneers Fellow at Wireless Generation, Shauntel also recommended program enhancements for the School of One program based on an analysis of student performance data.
Bill Bates, US Competitiveness Council
William Bates is Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff at the US Council on Competitiveness and Secretary to the Council’s Board of Directors. Bill manages the Council’s outreach and message to Members of Congress, the Administration and Governors and also serves as the Executive Director of the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils. He also co-authored the Council’s Five for the Future and Compete competitiveness agendas that identified America’s ability to compete and prosper in the global economy.
